Kip is built around one principle: your audio never leaves your device. This policy explains what data the app does and doesn't collect.
What stays on your device
- Raw audio recordings. Kip analyses snoring locally on your phone using an on-device machine-learning model. The raw audio file is deleted as soon as analysis finishes.
- Up to 5 short snore clips per night (about 5 seconds each), stored in your phone's secure storage. Only you can play them back. They are never uploaded.
- All session metadata (snore counts, intensity score, sleep duration). Stored in a local database on the device.
What we collect
- Anonymous product analytics via PostHog: which screens you open, when you start and stop recordings, whether you upgraded. No audio, no identifiable content. Used to understand whether Kip is usable.
- Crash reports via Sentry: technical error logs when the app crashes. Audio-related fields are stripped before sending.
- Subscription status via RevenueCat: handled by Apple's App Store and RevenueCat solely to verify whether you have an active subscription.
What we don't collect
- Your name, email, phone number, contacts, location, or health-app data.
- Any audio file or snore clip.
- Anything that could identify you personally.
Your rights
You can delete every byte Kip has stored on your phone at any time from Settings → Delete all data. Uninstalling the app removes everything as well.
Children
Kip is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Wellness tool
Kip is a wellness tool for screening, not a clinical assessment. It is not intended to confirm sleep apnoea or any other condition. If you are concerned about your snoring or sleep, please discuss with your GP.
